Persimmon Smoothie Recipe!

 

A few days ago, I was lucky enough to take a trip to one of the largest Japanese markets in the U.S.

Mitsuwa is just outside Chicago, in a suburb, and it made for a fun afternoon of sampling the delights they had to offer!

This, of course, included a stop for ramen.

I was very excited to find a box of fuyu persimmons! These persimmons have a lovely sweetness to them and ever since I first tasted them while living in Southern California I’ve been addicted.

This was a perfect opportunity to make a delicious fuyu persimmon smoothie!

Ingredients:

  •  2 fuyu persimmon
  •  3T of walnut butter
  •  Pumpkin pie spice (to taste)
  •  1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Distilled water (add to desired thickness)

Wash and chop persimmon to a manageable blending size. Add 1 cup of water to start, and blend. Add walnut butter, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice. (I am quite generous with the pumpkin pie spice!)

This is a sweet, cozy, comforting and autumnal feeling smoothie.
